Tourist Visa (abbreviated as DL) is one of the most common types of visas in Vietnam. This type of visa is granted to foreign nationals visiting Vietnam for tourism purposes and does not apply to foreign nationals intending to work during their stay in Vietnam.

According to the current regulations in Law 51/2019/QH14, and the changes in 2023, Tourist Visas are currently valid for a maximum temporary stay of 90 days. In cases where a Tourist Visa (DL) has a validity period exceeding 90 days, the visa holder is granted a temporary stay of 90 days and may apply for an extension if they wish to continue their stay in Vietnam.

What are the general requirements for a tourist visa? Tourist visas for Vietnam are not mandatory for citizens of certain countries on the list of visa exemptions for Vietnam.

In the event that you are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Your current passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of your arrival in Vietnam (temporary passports are not accepted).
  2. Your passport must have a minimum of 2 blank pages for visa stamps and immigration.
  3. You need 2 valid passport photos.
