Applying for NN2 Visa for Foreign Company Representatives in Vietnam

As previously explained, the NN1 visa is granted to foreign nationals serving as heads of representative offices of international organizations and non-governmental organizations in Vietnam. But what specific cases does the NN2 visa cover? Let’s explore this visa category in detail below.

What is NN2 Visa?

NN2 Visa, also known as Vietnam Visa with code NN2, is a type of visa issued to foreign nationals in the following positions:

  • Head of the branch office or representative office of foreign traders in Vietnam.
  • Head of the branch office or representative office of foreign economic, cultural, or other specialized organizations in Vietnam.

Visa Duration for Foreign Organizations with NN2 Code

NN2 Visa, issued to heads of representative offices, is valid for a maximum period of 12 months. If granted an NN2 Visa, foreign nationals can proceed to apply for a temporary residence card with the same code, valid for up to 03 years. This enables foreign nationals to work in Vietnam for an extended period and simplifies entry/exit procedures.

For those with a work duration exceeding 1 year in Vietnam, applying for an NN2 temporary residence card is advisable for the desired stay duration.
