The process for securing a Vietnam visa for Cuban passport holders varies based on the type of visa—tourist or business. Detailed instructions for each are outlined below.

Pre-Covid, Cuban citizens had up to two avenues for obtaining a tourist visa to Vietnam:

  • Obtaining a tourist visa at the Vietnam embassy/consulate,
  • Acquiring a Vietnam visa online, including VISA ON ARRIVAL.

However, post-Covid, holders of popular Cuban passports can now secure only a 30-day single entry tourist visa, issued in the form of a loose-leaf visa. This must be obtained before departure for Vietnam (referred to as Vietnam evisa or electronic visa). Other types of tourist visas for Vietnam have not been reinstated.

Step 1: Get a visa approval letter

  • The sponsor company must prepare the following documents: Form NA2 (completed online), Form NA16, and Certified business registration.
  • These documents are submitted to the Vietnam Immigration Department, which processes the application within 7 – 10 working days.
  • Upon approval, the sponsor company receives a business visa approval letter.

Step 2: Get business visa stamp

  • During this step, travelers obtain a business visa stamped on their passport at the Vietnam embassy/consulate in their country before departing for Vietnam.
