Indeed, a valid visa is mandatory for all citizens of Georgia intending to enter Vietnam, regardless of the purpose or duration of their visit.

How to Obtain a Vietnam Visa for Georgia Citizens

The process of obtaining a Vietnam visa for holders of Georgian passports depends on the type of visa, whether it’s a tourist visa or a business visa. Detailed instructions can be found below.

1. How to Obtain a Vietnam Tourist Visa for Georgia Citizens

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Georgian citizens had up to two ways to acquire a tourist visa:

  • Obtain a tourist visa at the Vietnam embassy/consulate.
  • Get a Vietnam visa online, including Visa on Arrival.

However, presently, holders of popular Georgian passports can only obtain a 30-day single-entry tourist visa, issued as a loose-leaf visa. This must be secured before departure for Vietnam (referred to as Vietnam e-visa or electronic visa). Other types of tourist visas for Vietnam have not yet resumed.

2. How to Obtain a Vietnam Business Visa for Georgia Citizens

To apply for a business visa, Georgian citizens are required to have a sponsor company in Vietnam. There are two steps that you and your employer in Vietnam need to follow:

  • Step 1: Obtain a Visa Approval Letter
    • Your sponsor company will need to prepare the following documents:
      • Form NA2 (completed online).
      • Form NA16.
      • Certified business registration.
    • These documents will be submitted to the Vietnam Immigration Department, which will process the application within 7 – 10 working days.
    • If approved, your sponsor company will receive a business visa approval letter.
  • Step 2: Obtain Business Visa Stamp
    • In this step, you will get a business visa stamped on your passport at the Vietnam embassy/consulate in your country before your departure for Vietnam.
