The process of obtaining a Vietnam visa for holders of Solomon Islands passports depends on the chosen visa type, whether it is a tourist visa or a business visa. Below, you will find comprehensive instructions.

  1. Acquiring a Vietnam Tourist Visa for Solomon Islands Citizens:

Before the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, Solomon Islands citizens had two options for obtaining a tourist visa, including:

• Applying for a tourist visa at the Vietnam embassy or consulate.

• Applying for a Vietnam visa online, which included options such as the Vietnam e-visa and Visa on Arrival.

However, at present, holders of standard Solomon Islands passports are only eligible for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa. This visa is exclusively issued in the form of a loose-leaf visa and must be secured prior to departing for Vietnam. This variant is commonly referred to as the Vietnam e-visa or electronic visa. Other types of tourist visas for Vietnam are not currently available.
